Post 193 (Cape May, N.J.) 89-year-old chaplain completes 100 Miles for Hope

Broomall, PA

In my hometown we have a small park to honor local veterans - appropriately named Veterans Park - where my wife and I during COVID, since so many things are not available, have enjoyed walking. When I was made aware of the American Legion "100 Miles for Hope" program, it was a no-brainer for me to sign up and participate. There is a track at the park measuring 1,500 feet per lap, making four times around a little over a mile. I am proud that I completed the goal of 100 miles supporting the American Legion Veterans & Children Foundation. I thank my maker for, as I get close to my 90th, giving me the ability to join all my brother vets in helping such a great cause.
