Chow Runner

I was in the Air Force, and on Jan. 26, 1965, arrived at 3706 Basic Military Training School Flight 128 at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. I was assigned the task of being the chow runner. I ate last every meal. I had to eat fast because some of the drill instructors wanted to leave quickly. When we went into the field for rifle training and the endurance course, I was called out. I could not understand why. I was then instructed to get in line and I got to eat first. I spent eight years active and 21 years in the Maryland Air Guard. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
