Memories of training for basic training

Basic training was memorable for me because I was the commanding officer of B-15-4 from March 1976 to April 1977 at Fort Knox, Ky. I had the opportunity to command some of finest drill Sergeants in the U.S. Army. These men made basic training an experience a new soldier would not forget.

The most interesting thing that happened during my command was waiting for a new cycle of trainees in late 1976 after graduating another cycle. We would usually fill in a day or two after graduating a cycle. We went six weeks waiting on a new set of trainees. It was challenge waiting but we finally "filled."
