Basic combat training, 1970, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

A day or so before graduation, we were gathering our field gear to turn in when laughter erupted in the barracks. There were two guys inside one pair of field pants marching around the barracks while counting cadence. One of the guys was way overweight at the start of basic when we were all issued our gear. We never really wore these pants while in the field, so by this time, this overweight guy had really slimmed down and wanted all of us to see it. Watching these two guys inside one pair of pants has to be the funniest thing I've ever seen. We all laughed so hard, we had tears in our eyes.
