Escape and evasion

The course was 1 mile square and bounded by four roads. “You are behind enemy lines. Think out the problem and do not get captured.”

Two hundred guys are dropped off at 23:00 hours (11 pm) on the snow-covered road in Fort Dix, N.J., from 2 ½ ton trucks. One hundred ninety-nine immediately ran into the woods toward the lighted tower (the safe zone), one mile away. Blanks, C-4, lots of noise and most are immediately captured. One guy gets off last and notices that no one is looking the other way. He goes back across the road, hides, waits till the trucks leave and then hikes around the course.

He comes into the safe zone from the rear. He arrives two hours before anyone else and never told how he did it.

In combat there are no rules. It is important to win!
