Sgt. Hunt

I was drafted into the Army on Oct. 9, 1968. I went to Fort Knox, Kentucky for basic training, As soon as I got there I met Sgt. Hunt. He was a big stocky man. Sgt. Hunt was great at training and pushed everyone to their limits. He made me acting sergeant of the platoon after two weeks. He saw something in me that made me try harder. I knew I was going to go to Vietnam so I wanted to be in the best shape I could be.
When I went to Vietnam I knew I was ready, and became a sergeant EG-5 in no time.
Thank you, Sgt. Hunt I could never repay you for what you did. You affected me for the rest of my life.

Sgt. Shady
