Honor guard at Tahome National Cemetery

North Bend, WA

Since its opening in 1995, members of American Legion Post 79 in North Bend-Snoqualmie have been providing military burial honors at Tahoma National Cemetery, and recently our Post 79 honor guard combined with Redmond (Wash.) VFW Post 2995 to form the Eastside Veterans Honor Guard. Last year we provided military honors for 55 veterans and the cemetery. Together with Chaplain Michael Pollina, also Post 79 commander, the firing party includes 1st Vice Commander George Townsend as well as Honor Guard Commander Art Farash. Our numbers are limited but we continue to provide a VSO chaplain, honor guard commander and three riflemen each month. In addition, we provide military honors at local cemeteries as requested.
