On 9/11, John J. Morris Post 62 in Peoria, Ariz., honored Patriot Day with a flag-raising and potluck dinner. With several in attendance, the honor guard was in full force with bugler, rifle team and flags team. After speeches and prayers, everyone went inside to enjoy a potluck dinner provided by post members with hamburgers and hot dogs provided by the post. While it was enjoyed, it was also somber. The Purple Hearts and the honor guard led all through the food line, followed by those needing assistance, the ladies and then the gentlemen in attendance. A flag with the names of everyone lost that day was placed in permanent display in the social quarters.
