Blue Grass American Legion Post 711, Blue Grass, Iowa, provided the color guard for the Wreaths Across America ceremony held at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, on 16 December 2017. From left to right are: Ben Lorenzen, Maurice Pranger, Gary Berndt, Al McDonnell, John Hudson, John Frank, Shay Elliott, John Fell, Ken Wilkison and Lee Schmidt. Other Post 711 members who participated were Don Arns, who placed a wreath in honor of the United States Army during the ceremony, and Tina Arns, who photographed the ceremony. In addition to providing the color guard for the ceremony, Post 711 works throughout the year to obtain as many sponsored wreaths as possible to be laid during the December ceremony.
