$8,200 donation by American Legion Post 167 in Chatsworth, Ga.

Chatsworth, GA

American Legion Post 167 presented Sheriff Davenport with 47 advanced first-aid kits, at a cost of $8,200 - one for each deputy on the force. All the deputies have received advanced training in first aid and will soon complete training equivalent to that of emergency medical technicians. American Legion Post 167 wanted to contribute the kits in their continuing effort to assist the community. No matter what the emergency, the sheriff's deputies are normally first on the scene. They will now be able to provide life-saving care immediately upon arrival.
