June 23-25 - Friday, Saturday and Sunday - the Traveling Korean War Memorial will come to Lake Park (2200 Lee St.) in Des Plaines, Ill., sponsored by Des Plaines American Legion Post 36. The memorial will be available for viewing 24 hours. It is open to the public at no charge. There will be a small opening ceremony on Friday the 23rd at 3 pm. On Saturday the 24th will be the main ceremony at 1 pm with the main speaker, the Korean Consul General of Chicago. Afterwards a short program of Korean cultural dancing and singing.
