USS Jason AR8 fired upon by communist forces

My father, Homer Ray Anderson, entered the U.S. Navy in May 1952. After boot camp, he was assigned to USS Jason AR8 as the captain's yeoman. While operating off the coast of Inchon, they were fired upon by communist forces. The ship was not struck, and no casualties occurred. However, the entire crew was awarded the Korean Battle Star. Jason frequently performed anti-aircraft drills, shooting at towed targets. Twice they almost downed the towing plane.
