USS Colonial (LSD 18), Korean War

Hattiesburg, MS

My name is Louis O. Webster and I served with the U.S. Navy from July 1951 to June 1959, which includes four years of Active Reserves.

These pictures are of the 10,000 prisoners we hauled, having to make two trips carrying 5,000 each trip. They were hauled from Kogido Island to Wanju.

This pictures is of a South Korean ship that had run aground and was loaded on our ship for repairs.
