Elias Carpenter, 14, of Northfield, Vt., carries the POW/MIA flag to begin Northfield's annual Labor Day Parade. Northfield is known as the home of Norwich University, where over 800 students also marched in the event. Elias was selected to carry the flag based on his past service in placing flags at the local cemetery. Elias, a member of Squadron 63 in Northfield, is also active with Troop 729 with the Boy Scouts of America, where he also assisted with fundraising and setup for the three-day Labor Day event.
