PFC James Russell Cloud of Georgia entered the Army on July 27, 1944, and was killed in action on April 22, 1945, in Germany while en route with the 42nd Rainbow Infantry Division to free the prisoners of the Dachau concentration camp. He was an only son and left behind an only son.
He was my father and would have turned 26 two weeks later on May 26.
