During the social distancing requirements in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, the 5th District of Florida salutes and honors our fallen veterans. A lone bugler sounds taps at the 5th District Florida monument at Jacksonville National Cemetery. The bugler is Jim Steele, commander of Squadron 137, Sons of The American Legion Detachment of Florida.
Jim also placed flags at Jacksonville National Cemetery and sounded taps for the wreath laying ceremony by the Jacksonville National Cemetery Support Committee, which was closed to the public due to social distancing restrictions.
