Our post begins the Thursday before Memorial Day, when we put flags on the veteran graves in five cemeteries, with the help of our Auxiliary and the Boy and Girl Scouts.
Memorial Day begins at the post at 0545 where we honor the fallen with prayer and firing a salute. Then we proceed to six other locations, including cemeteries and monuments, and repeat the ceremony.
We then have breakfast as a group before proceeding to parade line-up at 10:30 in the Village of Montgomery, with step-off at 1100. We then parade to Veteran's Park in the village, arriving about an hour later.
A ceremony follows with dignitaries and veterans delivering words to express the communities' support of their veterans, followed by a rifle salute.
