Wreaths laid at the homeless veteran monument

Homeless Veteran vigil held at nation's only homeless veteran monument at sundown on December 21 in Canton, GA

CANTON, GA

At 5:33 p.m. on December 21, 2023, the annual candlelight vigil was held at the nation's only homeless veteran monument located in the Cherokee County Veteran Park just outside of Canton, Georgia. The annual candlelight vigil is done at sundown every year on December 21, as this date represents the longest night of the year that over 40,000 homeless veterans across the country will have to endure out on the street. The monument represents both male and female homeless veterans and was dedicated three years ago.

Veterans pay their respect for those who will be living out in the cold on this night
