Refurbished high school flagpole

Washington, LA

I had heard that my old high school was being remodeled after damage from a storm. It had been closed many years ago and converted into an antique mall.
The owners had considered removing the old rusted pole and placing a shorter aluminum pole. I offered the owners to refurbish the pole as my local American Legion project at no cost to the owners.
The project was completed with the aide of a Honduran worker using a bucket lift to complete the top of the pole.
The pole was painted, and a new truck with pulley, solar light, eagle on ball and rope with wire center were installed.
It was an honor to bring my old 90-year-old high school flagpole back to glory.
