Staff Sergeant Robert C. Melberg, U.S. Army, American Legion Post 110 of Virginia Beach, Va., welcomed Mea Melberg- Rosner and her children, Solomon and Rachel, to its July 26, 2023, meeting. Mea is the daughter of Melberg, Post 110's namesake, and Solomon and Rachel are his grandchildren. The Rosner family made a generous donation to Post 110 and shared personal comments about their father and grandfather. Accepting the donation for Post 110 was Bob Russell, finance officer.
SSgt Melberg fought in World War II's Battle of the Bulge in France and Germany and earned two Bronze Stars with Combat V, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Good Conduct Medal, and various service and campaign medals.
