Department of Philippines Assistant Service Officer Attended VA Outreach Event

As part of their outreach program, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Manila Regional Office and Outpatient Clinic provided services to our veterans and beneficiaries at Mansion Garden –(Mirabelle) Subic Bay Freeport, Zone, Zambales, Philippines 0n January 10, 2024. The VA Manila Regional Office provided the following services during this visit: fielded general inquiries on available VA benefits, fielded inquiries on specific pending claims for benefits, assisted in filling out VA application forms for various benefits such as compensation, pension, death pension, burial benefits, claim for dependents and change of address information, and dissemination and face to face discussion on PACT Act related claims processing.

The VA Nursing Team provided preventive immunization (Flu, Pneumonia, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis, Zoster vaccines, and Covid-19 vaccine), updated vital signs, height and weight records, assessed patient’s condition and medical need, educated patients on healthy lifestyle habits, suicide prevention coordinators and Veteran Crisis Line information, and conducted assessments of mental health appointment needs.

Legionnaire Michael R. Verville, Department of the Philippines service officer, attended the VA outreach event. During the event, he received vaccines needed. Mr. Verville was also at the VA outreach to assist veterans with claims and obtaining VA benefits.
