Christmas Eve

Mound, MN

It's Christmas Eve 1968, and I have been out delivering traditional gifts to family and friends when I see the mailman doing the second delivery of the day. I'm thinking what a wonderful thing he is doing for his consumers. I stop to pick up the mail and find my draft notice, postmarked
"SEASONS GREETINGS."
I didn't tell anyone until the day after Christmas. Training went well, but the next Christmas Eve I was on ambush in Vietnam!
All is well in my life and I was proud to serve!!!
