Richard Stark takes the inaugural ride on the stair lift to the second floor at American Legion Post 255 in Brainerd, MN. Also pictured are Americanism Chair Darla Mae Gonnerman (left), of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 255; Post Commander Rick Wiersgalla; Post Finance Officer Roger Gonnerman; Minnesota Mobility Systems, Inc., Owner Mark Bliss; and Post Executive Board Member Steve Eide. Post 255 had a custom stair lift installed this last summer, to serve members and the public. The lift allows those unable to use the stairs for various meetings and events to access the Bahma Room upstairs at the Legion. Legion members worked with Mark Bliss, owner of Minnesota Mobility Systems, Inc., to determine the proper selection of stair lift. The American Legion thanked the individuals, organizations, and anonymous givers for monetary gifts; the volunteers who renovated the stairway and offered other help; Bliss for his work selecting the stair lift; and Mike Hagen and employees of West Central Lift and Elevator Works of Minnesota, who installed the stair lift.
