A Thank you from the Vets of Magnolia Manor

Post 35 honors local nursing home vets

Columbus, GA

In Columbus, Ga., Charles S. Harrison Post 35 honored the veterans from the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home on November 11, 2019. The veterans from the local nursing home were the guests of honor at the post Veterans Day Luncheon. These veterans and the Legionnaires dined on pulled-pork sandwiches (smoked by our own Legionnaire Robert "Sparky" Fisher) and various side dishes as part of the potluck, plus some great desserts from our Auxiliary member Monika Washington.
The veterans and Legionnaires had a great time making new friends, telling some tall tales and just enjoying the comradeship of each other's company.
The veterans from Magnolia Manor have been invited back for our annual Christmas Party that the post holds for the veterans living at the Tuskegee, Ala., VA nursing home. They are looking forward to meeting their fellow vets and to having a good time. In fact, Rumor Control has it that the Big Guy himself has heard of the rocking good time and may put in an appearance.
