With the onset of the pandemic Yorktown, N.Y. American Legion Post 1009 knew they would have to innovate to continue their event schedule. Each February the post holds a very successful Four Chaplains ceremony in its Post hall. Elected officials, Boy Scouts, school groups, several veterans groups (DAV, MOPH, VVA, KWV), and four prominent members of the clergy all come together to take part in the ceremony. With the pandemic still ongoing the post switched to recording a virtual Four Chaplains ceremony to keep everyone safe while still honoring the Four Chaplains. The ceremony video was released onto YouTube to educate everyone on the inspiring story of the Immortal Chaplains.
