The color guard of Holley-Riddle Post 21 presented the colors and tended the Hole 18 flag pin during the final round of the Ascendant LPGA golf tournament held at The Golf Courses at The Tribute, The Colony Texas, on Oct. 2, 2022.
In honor of the LPGA, the post put together an all-woman detail composed of Juana Carabajal and Mary Garcia on rifles, Chastity Hamer, and Patricia Zuczek on flags. The team also met with golfing legend Kathy Whitworth and tournament champion Charley Hull.
The LPGA players, caddies, Tribute crew and Volunteers of America staff were very appreciative of our veterans; in fact, several of the caddies also served in the military.
A special thanks to our city leaders Mayor Richard Boyer, Judy Ensweiler, Brian Wade, and the audience at Hole 18 for supporting our veteran community and for making The Colony a great city!
