Post 21 partners with LCF Church to honor veterans and proud families

The Colony, TX

Life Changing Faith Church (LCF) in Frisco, Texas, held a Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 12 to honor local veterans and their families. The Post 21 color guard presented the colors, and Commander Mary Garcia was the keynote speaker. The focus of her message was that all military service matters, no matter if it was two years or 20 years, if you repaired HVAC equipment or fought on the front lines. Every person who took the Oath played a key part in creating the greatest military in the world. She encouraged veterans to stay connected and continue serving because when they do, it becomes their superpower.
The event was coordinated by Rev. Kedah Shabazz and included prayer and songs by the amazing singers of LCF Church. A beautiful rendition of “Walk with Me, Lord” was perfect for the occasion, as we prayed for the safety and protection of our troops and veterans. All veterans in attendance received a certificate of appreciation from Rev. Kedah, acknowledging their bravery, sacrifice and strength for serving our country.
Special recognition was given to four families with children currently serving on active duty in the U.S. military. Garcia presented them with Blue Star Service banners and certificates. The banner is displayed in the window of a home to remind others that preserving America’s freedom demands so much. “When a person joins the military, the whole family gets involved,” said Garcia. “It’s important that the community knows of the sacrifices made by their neighbors.”
