Tailspin

"Tailspin" is the true story of Eugene Paul "Gene" Moran, a World War II B-17 tail gunner whose plane was shot down over Bremen, Germany, in November 1943. Gene rode the severed tail section down 4 miles and was trapped in it. He was picked up by a German patrol, treated for injuries in a POW camp by two Serbian doctors, moved from camp to camp, interned on a prison ship and forced on a 600-mile march. He was liberated in the spring of 1945 for U.S. Army troops. He was a life member of American Legion Post 220, served his community in many positions and was the first recipient of the State of Wisconsin Lifetime Veteran Achievement Award.
