I, Marilyn Whitmore, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic: that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me. So help me God.

The Oath of Enlistment……..We ask our young men and women to pledge this to us when they make the decision to join the service. And they make the commitment. To us. Sure we tell them thank you for their service and that we are so proud of them, and we are. But we cannot continue to send 18 and 19 year old troops overseas to fight our battles without a commitment here at home.

From now on when I say the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, I will repeat the Oath of Enlistment as an act of faith to our Soldiers and our Country.
