Young Marines Six-Mile Hike/Post 176

On Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, members of the Manassas Young Marines and
the Fairfax County Young Marines went on a six-mile hike together in
Prince William Forest Park. The group had a great time and enjoyed working
together. The photo was taken of the group at a resting point during the
adventure. The weather was great and it was an awesome opportunity for
people to get to know each other.
The Quantico and Fairfax County units recently worked together at the
Forgotten Battalion Ceremony at the National Museum of the Marine Corps
Chapel. In the coming weeks, the Quantico and Fairfax County units will get
the chance to jointly visit HMX-1 on Marine Corps Base Quantico. This is an
awesome opportunity and great learning experience for our youth.
The Manassas, Quantico, Shenandoah Valley and Fairfax County units comprise
the Northern Virginia Battalion of Young Marines. Kudos to the Registered
Adult Volunteers for their time, personal financial donations and effort to
provide mentorship and guidance to our future leaders. Bravo Zulu.
The Fairfax County Young Marines meet weekly at American Legion Post 176
in Springfield, Va.
