Northeast Post 630 places flags on veterans' graves

Northeast Post 630 - Blue Ash, OH

On Saturday, Nov. 6, members of American Legion Northeast Post 630 placed almost 400 flags on the gravesites of veterans buried in the Hopewell Cemetery in Montgomery, Ohio. Veterans from every war America has fought in are buried in the cemetery. Along with Post 630 members, Montgomery city council members and staff, residents and local high school students assisted in placing the flags. There were approximately 50 participants in all. In 2018 Post 630 members walked the 6,500 gravesites in the cemetery and identified the veteran graves. The City of Montgomery purchased the flags, and an annual date and time was set up for the placement of the flags. The flags will remain in place until after Veterans Day.
