Post 166 was honored to be a pitstop sponsor for the 5th Annual South Carolina “RUN FOR THE FALLEN” TO HONOR AND REMEMBER SOUTH CAROLINA MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS AND FIRST RESPONDERS WHO DIED AS A RESULT OF SERVING.

Tribute to South Carolina’s Military and First Responder Fallen Heroes, and their Families. Relay Team to Cover specific miles for each Fallen Service Member in Tribute Run from the South Carolina State House Steps, Columbia, SC to Patriots Point Maritime Museum, Mount Pleasant, SC.

The run team will stop at each “Hero Marker” HM (each mile marker) to give individual tribute to waiting Gold Star family members, friends and comrades. The goal of the event is to create a 125-mile memorial trail through South Carolina to honor and call out the names of over 400 Fallen Heroes.

South Carolina Run for the Fallen begins at 6:30 a.m. EDT on Friday, October 20, 2023, on the South Carolina State House steps in Columbia with a brief Run Start Opening Ceremony. Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg will be the guest speaker to kick-off the 3-day 125-mile run, which travels through Columbia, Gaston, Swansea, St Matthews, Cameron, Elloree, Santee, Holly Hill, Ridgeville, Summerville, Goose Creek, North Charleston, Mount Pleasant and finally ending at Patriots Point Maritime Museum in Mount Pleasant at 11:00 a.m. EDT on Sunday, October 22, 2023, followed by an End of Run Closing Ceremony in front of the Gold Star Memorial.
