Amazing news from the north

Havre, MT

American Legion Post 11 of Havre, Mont., is not just resting on its laurels! It's easy to forget about us up here on the Hi-Line.

Our post and our American Legion Riders Post 11 put together an amazing weekend of fun, fundraising and camaraderie! Every year we work for months to collect donations and organize a fundraiser for the Montana Wounded Warrior Program! Just one more way for us to give back, which is our mandate.

We have a huge Motorcycle Poker Run - up to 100 bikes - that starts the day at 9 a.m., culminating in a banquet with both a live and silent auction. That is followed by live entertainment from two different bands. Our leadership from Brian Carp Carpenter and Melinda Keough were the driving force for this event. This year (June 2, 2023) we raised $14,000. An amazing amount of money for our little town of 8,000 people. The management of the Wounded Warrior Program have told us that our donation was one of, if not the, largest single donations they have ever received in Montana! These heroes come home, disabled, and we help provide hunting and fishing trips for them. Hooah!
