The fighting wounded is the epitome of do or die.
Sooner or later the fight is over. The immediate crisis is over, yet no one showed us how to turn the switch back off.
Being stuck between hypervigilance and total shutdown is exhausting. Trying to explain it is nearly impossible.
Without a defined mission, it's hard to figure out what we're supposed to be doing.
I'm grateful for The American Legion for being that missing link. I'm humbled to have access to an organization that supports me and my history ministry.
Being heard can be the ultimate difference.
