Helping older WWII/Korean vets during COVID-19 stay-at-home

Woodland Hills, CA

Woodland Hills Post 826 (Dist. 20, Dept. CA)

Post 826 Executive Committee members have formed a team to reach out to the post's older WWII/Korean veteran members. The aim is to check on needs of these older veterans during this COVID-19 driven stay-at-home period and provide services to those in need.

Post 826 is doing this to make contact lists using its electronic roster, sorted by war era and ZIP code area. Executive Committee members then make individual phone calls, noting those older veterans found in need of assistance with grocery shopping, prescription pick-up and other amenities, including donation of food and OTC medication items as needed.

This effort has just begin, with results now coming in. More information to follow.
This is suggested as one approach to all in service to our older WWII and Korean War members, among others.
