The police department of Lady Lake, Fla., was in dire need when their "Shop with a Cop" was canceled by a national chain. They contacted Veterans Memorial Post 347 in Lady Lake for assistance. Commander Al Varrone along with the kitchen staff not only opened the post but made lunch for all the children and parents who attended. The police went shopping on their own and had presents for all the children, including bicycles. 3rd Vice Commander Dan Martin was Santa, along with Finance Officer Ken DeMello as Santa's helper elf.
