Flowers at Opijnen

Opijnen, Netherlands, OT

On July 30, 1943, an American fighter plane was shot down above Opijnen. Now, 80 years later, the veterans of American Legion Post NL01 made another visit. This is how they remembered their fallen compatriots: by laying flowers on the graves. Below are a few images of their beautiful gesture.

The turnout was small, but the enthusiasm was real. A big thank-you to the supporters of Opijnen for making the facilities available for us.
