I went through basic training in the summer of 1962 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. It was a new adventure, an ordeal and a time when I needed some direction in my life. It accomplished all that and more. I have no regrets about doing it because it really did me some good and I wouldn't have missed it for anything. The photo above is of myself (top row far left) and several other members of Flight 842 on our last day at Lackland.
