I was in basic training at Fort Knox, Ky., in November 1963.

We had been on the firing range that day and we were cleaning our MI’s on blankets outside our barracks.

One guy had a radio on and it was announced that President Kennedy had been shot in Texas. One guy said the Russians killed President Kennedy and we are going to war.

Well, we didn’t go to war.

My daughter and her family purchased a house in Florida in November 2015. In the attic she found a paper that was put out in November 1963. It was all about President Kennedy being shot.

My daughter sent me the paper in a glass case, which I now have.
