My worst memory of boot camp was crawling under barb wire at the same time they were firing 30 caliber and 50 caliber machine guns over our heads.
My fondest memory I had was that after 10 weeks of boot camp, my two DIs made us duck walk with our seabags full of clothes to the gate and telling him good-bye and a few other things. Then 25 days later, I met him in Korea and I was damn glad to see him again and was taught the best training I ever had to keep alive.
I’m glad I am an retired Marine. The few, the proud. They made a man out of me!
