Welcome to the U.S. Army

It was in 1973, at the age of eighteen I enlisted in the U.S. Army. I was in Boot Camp, during the Vietnam era, feeling sorry for the decision to be here.

The Senior Drill Sargent, called us to formation and told us that it is not a right but a privilege to serve your Country during trying times.

After decades have pasted I fully understand and will never forget what he meant by these words.
