This story was related to me by a SSgt. who at one time had been a Drill Instructor. As point of clarification in Marine Boot Camp. the DI's use recruits who are about to graduate to instruct the new boots in basic tasks.

This DI was sitting at his desk one fine morning when suddenly a recruit come smashing thru the door into the wall lockers. He was followed by a red face DI from another platoon.

The DI jumps to his feet and screams what the heck do you think you're doing to my recruit. [DI's are very protective of their pogues} The intruding DI can hardly speak. Doo yoou know what this pogue was doing?" The Resident DI shouts, "NO!"

He turned to the pogue and asks "what the H**l were you doing?" "Sir, I was making coffee SIR." The intruder says, "Ask him where he was getting the water from!" The DI said, "WELL?" not waiting for the intruder to says, "THE COMMODE, HE WAS DIPPING WATER OUT OF THE COMMODE."

The DI turns to his recruit and says,"WHY?". The recruit says that is the way the other recruits have been doing it before. Needless to say no coffee was made by recruits after that.
