Never run away from the fight

There are so many memories of my basic training at Lackland AFB. The hundreds of situps, the thousands of pushups, and the millions of miles run. The time we had a training TI who marched us right into the side of a building. But what I will never forget was a day when we were out marching around the base, when an alarm went off. Our TI halted us and told us to stay at ease, he would be back. He ran off toward the alarm. He came back about an hour later. He told us that we should always run toward the fight. Never run away from an alarm or whatever. Always go toward the fight. I took those words to heart and I have never run from a fight. Active duty or as a civie. Words to live by. Words to survive by.
