Determination counts

I was a country farm boy from Penna, Tenn. I enlisted in the Air Force in October 1964. My first two weeks of Basic Training I silently, secretly, cried myself to sleep. I said to myself, “What have I gotten myself into?” But by the grace of God and my determination to finish what I started, I made it to graduation. I was the happiest man alive! I was in the 15th Reconnaissance Tech Squadron, March Air Force Base, Riverside, Calif., during the Vietnam War. After my four years of active duty, I served two years inactive duty at home.
If I made it, anyone can. But you have to keep at it, no matter what comes your way.
