Lifelong friends

February 1966, basic training in line at the chow hall: I’m from Indiana, and another recruit was from Long Island, N.Y. He said something funny, and I laughed. Next thing I know, a training instructor is in my face and says “What’s so funny, dip s—t?!”
We’re still in contact after almost 50 years. I was in his wedding, and he was in ours. He came to visit me two years ago, and we are going to visit him this year. Guess what words are said when we get together?
