The Post-9/11 GI Bill paid for my master's in nursing to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
I did my clinical rotations within the VA and aspired to work within the VA to serve my fellow veterans afflicted with psychological wounds of war. It is my honor and passion each day to serve my fellow veterans; the GI Bill assured me the education I needed to fulfill my purpose in life. Each day is an adventure hearing the stories of the lives of our nation's veterans. Those stories need to be heard and as a fellow veteran, many feel more comfortable sharing them with me.
