Quilts of Valor honors at-home veterans in Franklin, Tenn.

Pat McMahon, chairperson of the local Quilts of Valor Guild, accompanied by American Legion Post 215 members Willie Mac Gentry and Donnell Lane, presented homemade patriotic quilts to four combat veterans on Feb. 27. Receiving the quilts were American Legion members Fred Gentry (Marines/Vietnam), Robert Hodge (Army/Vietnam), James Prince (Army/WW II) and Houston Taylor (Army/Korea). The mission of Quilts of Valor is to cover servicemembers and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. As one veteran put it after receiving his quilt, "You made my day!"
