Pritzker Military Museum and Library/DASPO Vietnam photography

258 - Jonesboro, GA

To all my friends, relatives, fellow Facebook folks, Vietnam vets, fellow members of the VFW and American Legion, and subscribers to "Vietnam Magazine": Seeking your help where you can. The Pritzker Military Museum and Library (PMML), 194 South Michigan Ave., Suite 400, Chicago, IL 60603 is honoring the photo unit I served with during the Vietnam War. Our unit was the Department of the Army Special Photo Office (DASPO). Many of the Vietnam combat photographs and camera footage you see in publications on the History Channel and many other media sources were taken by DASPO combat photographers. We had two KIA and several wounded while on missions. A collection of the photographs and footage will be displayed at PMML from September 2015 through February 2016. We are seeking help in a couple of ways. You can help by making a small (or large) "tax deductible donation." Just put "pay to the order of Pritzker Military Museum and Library" on your check and be sure to write "DASPO" on the "For" line of the check. If you are strapped for money, you can still help by getting the word out and simply hit "Share." To see many of the photography and motion picture contributions DASPO made from 1962 to 1975 in Vietnam, visit the Texas Tech "Vietnam Virtual Archives," visit the website Fold3.com and type DASPO in the query/search box. I'm proud to say this month's "Vietnam Magazine" did a feature on our SFC Howard Breedlove, aka Harry the Horse. Harry took the photograph that was used for the Vietnam War commemorative postage stamp. Any donations and/or publicity will be greatly appreciated. The more help we can get, the bigger and better the presentation. If you need or want additional information, send me your email via the message feature. Please spread the word. Thank you so much!!
