The American Legion Zone 1 Oratorical Contest was held at Post 81 in Monticello, Indiana, on February 4, 2024. Marissa Pleasant, sponsored by Hamon Gray Post 83, Third District, was the runner up. Knox Boyd, sponsored by a post in Second District was the winner. Pleasant is a freshman at Marquette Catholic School, Michigan City, Indiana, and Boyd is a senior at McCutcheon High School, Lafayette, Indiana. Boyd will go on to participate at the Department level. Good luck Knox!
