American Legion Post 230 (Hawthorne, Fla.) Commander Harry Carter presents a check for $500 to Courtney O'Brien as her father Daniel O'Brien looks on. Ms. O'Brien will be attending Sante Fe College in Gainesville with her future sights set on a degree in radiology. The award is a continuing award based on grades and attendance.

This is the first scholarship awarded under the post's new scholarship program.
